Is it legal to advertise to consumers in a parking lot, i.e. walmart, toysrus, etc.?

I have a new advertising business that gives people the ability to text in to receive coupons & various info sent to their mobile phones. Aside from seeing our mobile advertising vehicle, I would like to have my reps introduce what we offer to consumers in parking lots but am not sure if there’s a permit required or if permission is needed by the owner, i.e. walmart, target, toysrus, etc. Any info would be much appreciated. Thank you :)

Major chain stores tend to worry a lot about scams and being associated with them. It’s doubtful you will get anyone to agree to let you use their parking lot. Unless you are a major name, (coke, Frito Lay, etc.), you have little chance of it happening.

I think what you are offering is a good idea though. You just need to find another way to advertize it.
