Location: Shangri-La Hotel, New, The Delhi India

Not since the cellular world came into existence, it has been the continuous innovation in cellular services. The industry Indian telecom is one of the fastest growing telecom market and second largest in the world. With over 621 million subscribers, the teledensity in India has increased by 52.74 percent in the first quarter of this year that the country has added 20.3 million subscribers in a single month, showing no sign of the impact of global economic slowdown.

Today, mobile phones have exceeded their primary role of voice communications and have graduated to become an essential device for mobile entertainment. We are a time when users buy mobile phones not only be in contact with people, but use it to express their thoughts, for social networks, to see their interests, upload photos, download pictures, games, read news, surf the Internet, listen to music, chat instantly with friends and families, and even check their bank balances. Thank you value added services that are new and innovative was offered on an ongoing basis.

Indian telecommunications industry offers the lowest rates in the world. Given the declining ARPU due to tumbling prices votes and increasing competition between operators, it is imperative to focus on other revenue streams. This is where there is a perceived need capitalize on the value Added services market. So, with margins of traditional telecommunications declines, it is obvious that VAS is the changer of play Indian telcos have done and projection for their VAS platforms and running.

India Mobile VAS market is estimated 3 billion dollars with revenues driven by mobile VAS entertainment theme, including mobile music, games, pictures, TV and video, which represents 29 per cent. Mobile messaging and mobile Internet accounts for 49 percent and 21 percent respectively, and 1 percent of income is generated from value-added services. Looking at the statistics, the mobile VAS industry is certainly projected to grow and contribute to income more important for operators. Currently, approximately 9-12% of revenues come from a telecommunications VAS. It is expected that this will go up 20-25% in the next three years.

VAS is increasingly a growth area that allows the operator to maximize revenue and grow their ARPU. It is estimated that the VAS market in India, including messaging, mobile internet, social networks and mobile payments, amounted to Rs 16.650 crore in 2009. It is expected to cross Rs 21,940 crore this year. Blank or spoiled by choice and options, mobile subscribers are in many respects begin to choose their operators on the basis of Value Added Services (VAS) they offer. The increased importance of VAS has also made developers Content burn the midnight oil to find new concepts and better quality and services. For providers of VAS, 3G will open up sources of income not only by the richest content, but also through advertising. As traffic increases, the share of advertising revenues will change dramatically in the long term. Among the more than 550 million handsets in use in India, around 20% are already 3G compatible, ensuring a market for high-speed services.

So, in short, one can conclude that the mobile VAS industry in India is a large number of structural changes and reforms is expected to grow and contribute more revenue for the telecommunications industry in the years to come. Get ready!

This event will bring together representatives of the major wireless operators, handset manufacturers, content developers, music companies and film artists cartoon, game makers, sports, mobile imagery, WAP, wallpapers, logos, SMS based contests and streaming audio & video.
